SARAJEVO, Bosnia and Herzegovina
The Bosnia and Herzegovina Football Federation Board has dismissed the manager of the national football team following a disappointing start for the squad in the Euro 2016 qualifying campaign.
Safet Susic was confirmed to have been dropped on Tuesday after board managers held a three-hour meeting at a hotel in the capital, Sarajevo, a day earlier to discuss his performance and that of the team.
Susic, who left the hotel in the middle of the meeting, said: "I did not want to leave my task because we still have a chance to participate in the European Football Championship if we win the five remaining matches."
The President of the Federation, Elvedin Begic, confirmed the federation had unanimously decided to dismiss the experienced manager to ensure the Bosnia and Herzegovina National Football Team may gain a stake in Euro 2016 in France.
The dismissal came after Israel defeated Bosnia and Herzegovina 3-0 in the European Championship qualifier on Sunday night.
