Croatian football coach Slaven Bilic penned a three-year contract with Turkish soccer team Besiktas.
Speaking before the penning ceremony in Istanbul, Bilic said, "I am very grateful that I came to this wonderful country, and find the opportunity to work in this club."
Besiktas Football Director Onder Ozen stated, "We signed a three year contract but our wish is that he will work with us many years to come."
44-year old Bilic started his career back in 1988, playing for a hometown club, following a successful playing career in Germany and England.
After his playing career, Croatian coach briefly took charge of his hometown club Hajduk Split before launching his coaching career in earnest with the Croatian U21. Croatian coach managed Croatia under-21 football team between 2004 and 2006. He took the senior national side in August 2006.
In May 2012, Bilic announced that he signed a coaching contract with the Russia's soccer club FC Lokomotiv Moscow.
