Batum’s block sends France to Olympic basketball final in Tokyo
France to take on Team USA for gold medal on Aug. 7
ANKARA
France advanced to the men's basketball final at the Tokyo Games on Thursday with a 90-89 win against Slovenia.
Slovenian guard Klemen Prepelic's driving lay-up was blocked by Nicolas Batum before Rudy Gobert grabbed the rebound in the final seconds to send France to the gold medal game.

Nando De Colo led France with 25 points, Evan Fournier scored 23 and while Gobert added nine with 16 rebounds in the semifinal game.
Luka Doncic, who registered a third triple-double in Olympic history, finished with 16 points, 18 assists and 10 rebounds in the losing effort.
Mike Tobey scored 23 points and Prepelic racked up 17 for Slovenia.
France will take on Team USA for the top spot on the podium on Aug. 7 and Slovenia will face Australia for the bronze medal.
