Basketball: Turkish teams lose in EuroLeague Round 9

ANKARA

Turkish basketball clubs lost each of their matches in Round 9 of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague on Tuesday.

TD Systems Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz beat Fenerbahce Beko 86-68 in Spain.

Baskonia center from the US, Alec Peters, was the game's top scorer with 25 points.

Fenerbahce Beko's Czech star Jan Vesely racked up 15 points to be his team's highest scorer.

Meanwhile, German club Bayern Munich toppled Anadolu Efes 74-71 in Istanbul.

Anadolu Efes' German center Tibor Pleiss gathered 19 points to be the match's highest scorer, though the Turkish team was unable to avoid the home loss.

Bayern Munich's US guard Wade Baldwin IV had 15 points and 11 assists to bring the win for the Germans.

Anadolu Efes came seventh in standings with a 4-4 win/loss record.

Fenerbahce Beko were in the ninth spot, winning four games but losing five others.

Spanish powerhouse Barcelona are now leading the standings with 7-1.
