ISTANBUL
Besiktas activated the option to buy Rachid Ghezzal from Leicester City, the Turkish football club confirmed Thursday.
"He's going nowhere! This is where he belongs," Besiktas said on Twitter.
Ghezzal signed a three-plus-one-year contract to play for the Black-Eagles and a transfer fee has been set at €3 million ($3.5 million), the team said in a regulatory filing.
Ghezzal, 29, who joined Besiktas on loan last season, scored eight goals and had 18 assists in 35 games.
The Algerian winger helped the Black-Eagles clinch a Turkish Super Lig title and the Turkish Cup.
