WASHINGTON

The US announced Wednesday $300 million in security assistance for Ukraine against Russia's war.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken said the US will continue to stand with Ukrainian partners "as they defend themselves from Russia’s war of aggression.

"Pursuant to a delegation of authority from President (Joe) Biden, I am authorizing our 37th drawdown of U.S. arms and equipment for Ukraine valued at $300 million," he said in a statement.

The package includes additional ammunition for HIMARS rocket systems, additional howitzers, artillery and mortar rounds, anti-armor capabilities, anti-tank weapons and spare parts, among others.

"This latest package will help Ukraine continue to bravely defend itself in the face of Russia’s brutal, unprovoked, and unjustified war," said Blinken.

"Russia could end its war today. Until Russia does, the United States and our allies and partners will stand united with Ukraine, for as long as it takes," he said.

The Pentagon said the US will continue to work with its allies and partners to provide Ukraine with capabilities to meet its immediate battlefield needs and longer-term security assistance requirements.
