Ukraine says overnight Russian missile strike hits gas infrastructure in Poltava region
Air force claims 19 cruise, ballistic and guided missiles launched

ISTANBUL
An overnight Russian missile strike hit gas infrastructure in Ukraine’s central Poltava region, local authorities said on Tuesday.
A statement by the country's air force said Russia carried out a combined missile strike overnight on gas production facilities in the Poltava region. It claimed that up to 19 cruise, ballistic and guided missiles were launched.
The Poltava Regional Military Administration said nine settlements in the region’s Myrhorod district were left without gas supply due to the attack.
Meanwhile, Ukraine’s national oil and gas company Naftogaz said its production facilities in Poltava were damaged, but no casualties were reported.
“The Naftogaz Group is taking all necessary measures to stabilize the situation with gas supply in the Poltava region,” the company said in a statement.
Meanwhile, Ukraine's power grid operator Ukrenergo said it implemented emergency power outages across the country.
The Russian Defense Ministry said it launched a group strike on Ukraine overnight, which damaged gas and energy facilities supporting the country’s military-industrial complex and other military facilities.
