Russia says Ukrainian drone attacks damaged energy facilities in Rostov, Samara regions
Ukrainian General Staff confirms it struck energy infrastructure in both regions during overnight attacks

ISTANBUL
Russia said Tuesday that overnight Ukrainian drone attacks struck and damaged energy facilities in the Rostov and Samara regions.
“A massive drone attack in the Chertkovsky District resulted in a fire at an oil pipeline. Emergency services were dispatched to the scene. The personnel were evacuated. There are no casualties, as of yet,” Rostov Gov. Yury Slyusar said late Monday on Telegram.
Slyusar later said a warehouse at an industrial facility in the village of Sokhranovka also caught fire due to falling debris from the downed drones.
Sokhranovka is home to a gas distribution point, where one-third of Russia's natural gas bound for Europe via Ukraine passed before Kyiv decided to halt flows through the facility in May 2022.
On Tuesday morning, Slyusar declared that the fires were extinguished, and no one was injured or killed.
Elsewhere, Samara Gov. Vyacheslav Fedorishchev wrote on Telegram that Ukrainian drones targeted an industrial enterprise in Syzran.
“Our air defense forces destroyed the drones. There were no casualties or injuries,” he added.
Russia’s Defense Ministry claimed its air defenses downed 18 Ukrainian drones launched overnight, of which 10 were shot down above the Rostov region, while two were intercepted in the Samara region.
In a later statement on Telegram, Ukraine’s General Staff confirmed that it struck an oil pumping infrastructure in the Rostov region, as well as hit production facilities belonging to the Syzran oil refinery in the Samara region.
