Russia on Wednesday said its forces hit hundreds of military targets in Ukraine Tuesday night.

Speaking at a press briefing in Moscow, Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said the air force hit 93 objects of Ukraine's military infrastructure, including three ammunition depots, and 69 areas of concentration of manpower and military equipment.

He added that Russia's Strategic Rocket Forces and artillery struck 407 areas of concentration of manpower and military equipment, 13 command points, four positions of the Osa-AKM air defense missile systems, and 14 ammunition depots, while the Russian air defense systems destroyed nine unmanned aerial vehicles.

“In total, since the beginning of the special military operation, 164 aircraft, 125 helicopters, 807 unmanned aerial vehicles, 302 anti-aircraft missile systems, 2,998 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 360 multiple rocket launchers, 1,455 field artillery and mortars, as well as 2,808 units of special military vehicles have been destroyed,” he said.

At least 3,459 civilians have been killed and 3,713 others injured since Russia launched the war on Ukraine on Feb. 24, according to UN estimates. The true toll is feared to be much higher.

More than 5.91 million people have fled to other countries, with some 7.7 million people internally displaced, according to the UN refugee agency.
