Russia says 1 killed, 7 injured in Ukraine's shelling of Kursk region
Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova says drone attack shows Kyiv's unwillingness to resolve conflict through diplomatic means

MOSCOW
One person was killed and seven others injured in a Ukrainian drone strike in Russia's Kursk region, according to a statement from the Russian Health Ministry on Tuesday.
Of the seven wounded victims, four were hospitalized, with one in serious condition, the ministry's statement read. The attack also destroyed two residential houses and 15 cars.
"Operational data from the Federal Center for Disaster Medicine confirms that on April 15, 2025, eight civilians suffered injuries, resulting in one fatality. The incident stemmed from a drone assault targeting residential buildings and an ambulance station garage in Kursk. Damage extended to fifteen vehicles," the ministry said.
In a separate statement, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova condemned the nighttime attack, describing it as Ukraine's "most severe drone-led aggression to date." She said a coordinated barrage of 109 drones deliberately targeted residential zones and civilian infrastructure.
Zakharova stressed that such acts demonstrated a blatant disregard for diplomatic resolutions and underscored the Ukraine's refusal to pursue peace through negotiation.
"Russia calls on the responsible international community to condemn the crimes of the Nazi regime in Kyiv against civilians and demonstrate its determination to put an end to the bloody acts of the Zelenskyy gang," she added.
