Ukrainian troops 'stopped in all four directions and suffered heavy losses,' says defense chief Shoygu

Russia on Thursday claimed it had repelled an overnight offensive by Ukrainian armed forces in Zaporizhzhia region.
In a video statement, Defense Minister Sergey Shoygu said some 1,500 troops and over 150 armored vehicles were engaged in the attack from four directions, which was aimed at breaching the defense line of the Russian forces.
The Ukrainian troops "were stopped in all four directions and suffered heavy losses," he added.
