At least one person was killed and 16 injured on Monday due to a Russian drone attack in northeastern Ukraine.
"As of 1:00 p.m. (1000GMT), 16 people were injured and one person died. Help was provided to the injured," the Sumy Regional Military Administration said in a statement on Telegram.
It said four Shahed 136-type drones had hit Sumy's urban center located less than 30 kilometers (18.6 miles) from the Russian border, damaging an administrative building and two apartment buildings.
Efforts to evacuate local residents are ongoing, the statement added, while those affected by the strike were given temporary accommodations.
The ongoing Russia-Ukraine war, which started in February 2022, has killed over 9,000 civilians and wounded more than 15,700, according to the latest UN figures.
