At least three people were injured in a Ukrainian drone attack on a residential building in Russia’s city of Voronezh on Friday, according to the governor.

“According to preliminary data, an unmanned aerial vehicle attacked a residential building on Belinsky Street in Voronezh. … Three people got hit with shrapnel, while they refused to be hospitalized,” Voronezh Governor Aleksandr Gusev said on Telegram.

The Russian media reported that the building was damaged on the second and third floors, which led to partial destruction of several apartments.

Special and rescue services are working at the place of the incident, Gusev also said.

Ukraine’s armed forces have unleashed a series of attacks on Russia's border regions in recent months, notably Bryansk and Belgorod, which were hit with drones and artillery, according to Moscow.

Commenting on the incident at a press briefing in Moscow, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters that Kyiv "continues its activities."

"The Kyiv regime continues to attack civilian infrastructure, residential buildings, and continues its activities," he said.

Separately, Roman Starovoyt, the governor of the Kursk region -- another Russian region bordering Ukraine -- said on Telegram that a drone attacked an oil depot in the city of Kursk.

He said the unmanned aerial vehicle was repelled, and the unmanned aerial vehicle crashed near the depot without causing damage or casualties.

Peskov also mentioned the situation in the Kherson region, claiming that evacuation of people from areas that were flooded after the breach of the Kakhovka dam, is being carried out under "barbaric shelling" of Ukraine's armed forces.

"This shelling does not stop. These are more than barbaric attacks. You know that as a result of these attacks, there are dead among the flood victims. There was even a pregnant woman," he noted.

Vladimir Leontyev, the mayor of the Russia-controlled city of Nova Kakhovka -- located 5 kilometers (3 miles) off the dam -- said on Thursday that five people were found dead following the flooding.

Russia and Ukraine on Tuesday accused each other of damaging the Kakhovka dam, which led to the flooding of the neighboring settlements.

Moscow accused Ukraine of attempting to cut Crimea off the freshwater it receives from the Kakhovka Reservoir, formed by the dam, while Kyiv claimed that Russia tries to slow an expected counteroffensive.
