Authorities say Russian strike damaged 54 commercial outlets, 304 apartments in 13 residential buildings, 8 vehicles

ISTANBUL
Two people were killed in an airstrike that hit the center of Dobropillya, a town in Ukraine’s eastern Donetsk region, officials said Wednesday.
“Two people were killed and 22 injured – these are the data on the shelling of Dobropillya as of 8:10 p.m (1710GMT). Rescuers are extinguishing the fire to clear the rubble and clearly establish the number of victims,” Vadym Filashkin, head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, said on Facebook.
Authorities said the Russian strike damaged 54 commercial outlets, 304 apartments in 13 residential buildings, and eight vehicles.
The Donetsk Regional Prosecutor’s Office stated that a Russian FAB-500 bomb with a UMPK guidance module was used in the strike.
A pre-trial investigation has been opened on suspicion of a war crime under Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
State-run Ukrinform news reported earlier that the 500-kilogram (1,102-pound) bomb hit a store in the town’s center. Initial reports cited 14 injuries, with concerns that others are trapped beneath the debris.
Located west of the front-line city of Kostiantynivka, Dobropillya has seen limited direct strikes until recently, as officials warn of expanding attacks across the Donetsk region.
