Approx. 23 more people killed in Aleppo bombings

Aleppo, Syria

Approximately 23 people were killed in barrel bomb attacks by Syria's army helicopters on Aleppo's opposition-controlled Haydariyah region on Sunday, according to the Syria Network for Human Rights.

The London-based human rights watchdog, which tracks civilian and dissident casualties said that the dead included women and children.

A statement by the Local Coordination Committees of Syria (LCC) said dozens of people were wounded and many vehicles set ablaze in the attack on a junction.

Ambulances were insufficient for carrying the wounded, and people had to remove the dead and wounded from the demolished buildings and burning cars through their own means, the statement added.

Around 67 people were reportedly killed in barrel bomb attacks on the Mesekin Hananu district in Aleppo on Saturday.
