Turkmenistan president heads home due to mother's illness
Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov was scheduled to meet Erdogan in Istanbul on Wednesday.

Turkmenistan's President Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov returned home in the morning, cancelling his Istanbul program on Wednesday.
According to Turkish Presidency sources, Berdymukhamedov returned to Turkmenistan because of his mother's illness. The sources did not give any further details.
The program in Istanbul, which included a meeting with Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, was cancelled.
The Turkmen delegation in Istanbul will, however, continue its program in Istanbul, at the 6th International Turkmenistan Investment Forum.
