Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated on Thursday that National Coalition for Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition Forces was in an effort to prevent political meeting process, saying that this approach was unacceptable.
After a meeting with Foreign Minister of Cuba Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla, who was in Moscow for an official visit, Lavrov stated in a press conference that National Coalition for Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition Forces was in an effort to prevent the political meeting process and to encourage a military intervention to the country during the planned "Syria conference" in Geneva.
He said that this could not be accepted upon a question and that Russia would attend the conference if Assad's withdrawal would be guaranteed.
Saying that there was another opposing side, too, Lavrov reminded that this side expressed its certain participation without any preconditions, unlike National Coalition for Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition Forces, which sent ultimatoms and put prerequisites forward which could not be practised.
