ALEPPO, Syria
The Islamic Front, the largest Islamist opposition alliance, has taken control of many towns and villages again in the north of Syria's Aleppo by inflicting heavy losses to the Islamic State of Iraq and Levant (ISIL), an insurgent group active in Iraq and Syria said Ahmed Mohammed Ali, media manager of Local Coordination Committees of Syria (LCC), to Anadolu Agency.
The Islamic Front forces gained control of Anadan, Beyanun, Reytan, Mari and Tell Rifaat towns and Herdatani and Meskan villages after clashing with the ISIL, Ali confirmed.
He also stated that the Islamic Front seized ammunition including tank shells, rockets and missiles after the attacks on ISIL quarters and commented, "The Islamic Front removed ISIL members from the centre of Aleppo. But ISIL members started to gather in Bab town of Aleppo. The Islamic Front will launch an operation in that town soon."
