Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu stressed the military operations in Syrian side of Turkish-Syrian border during his phone conversation with UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon.
Diplomatic sources said that Davutoglu called Ban on the phone and said that helicopters were staging military operations in Syrian side of the border with Turkey, and a total of 2,500 Syrian citizens crossed in Turkey via Reyhanli town of Turkish southern Hatay city in the past 24 hours.
Davutoglu called Ban at 2:00 a.m. at night immediately after he was informed that helicopters were staging military operations in Syria.
This has been the highest number of Syrian citizens who crossed in Turkey so far, said Davutoglu.
He also said that UN officials would be welcomed to watch the developments along the border, if they wanted.
