ANKARA
Davutoglu told reporters in Ankara's Esenboga Airport on Friday that the number of Syrian citizens, who escaped from the violence in their country and took shelter in Turkey, reached 23,825 with a rising trend in the past one week.
If there are more Syrian refugees, this will create a conjuncture which necessitates the UN and the international community to take action, said Davutoglu.
We expect the promises given to Kofi Annan, the joint special envoy of the United Nations and League of Arab States on the Syrian crisis, to be kept and operations to stop and military troops to be withdrawn from residences, said Davutoglu, adding that unkept promises were shaking the confidence of Syrians in international community.
Nearly 3,000 Syrian citizens crossed in Turkey in the last 24 hours.
