Turkish Cypriot caretaker government on Sunday received a vote of confidence from the parliament to see the country to elections scheduled for July 28.

Under Prime Minister Sibel Siber the coalition government, consisting of Republican Turkish Party-United Forces (CTP-BG), Democrat Party-National Forces (DP-UG) and Communal Democracy Party (TDP) has received the vote of confidence in an open ballot, where 26 voted in favor and 15 against.

"The government came to power with transparency and clarity," Siber said.

The National Union Party (NUP) of former Prime Minister Irsen Kucuk collapsed early in June after a vote of no confidence at the national assembly.

The NUP government, on duty since May 17, 2010, lost its majority following the resignation 8 of its deputies from the party on May 26.
