US president 'betrayed diplomacy,' says Iran’s foreign minister

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi accused US President Donald Trump on Wednesday of “betraying diplomacy” and his American voters, amid ongoing US-Israeli attacks on Iran.
"When complex nuclear negotiations are treated like a real estate transaction, and when big lies cloud realities, unrealistic expectations can never be met," Araghchi wrote on the US social media company X.
The consequence of this was "bombing the negotiation table out of spite," he argued.
“Mr. Trump betrayed diplomacy and Americans who elected him,” Araghchi said.
Regional tensions escalated when the US and Israel launched a large-scale attack on Iran on Saturday, killing nearly 800 people, including Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
In response, Tehran has retaliated with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel as well as Gulf countries which are home to US assets.
