Senior commander of Iran's Revolutionary Guards killed in Israeli strikes on Beirut

ISTANBUL
A senior commander of Iran's Revolutionary Guards was killed in Friday’s Israeli air attack on Beirut, state news agency IRNA reported on Saturday.
Brigadier Gen. Abbas Nilforoushan was killed alongside Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, the agency said.
Nilforoushan is said to have served as the deputy commander of the IRGC for operational affairs.
Hezbollah and Israel have been engaged in cross-border warfare since the start of Israel's onslaught on the Gaza Strip, which has killed nearly 41,600 victims, mostly women and children, following a cross-border attack by Hamas last Oct. 7.
Israel's recent extensive airstrikes on Lebanon have killed hundreds and displaced many others.
