The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said Wednesday that teams evacuated families whose homes were taken over for military outposts by the Israeli army in the Jenin refugee camp, as part of a second straight day of military operations.

“Palestine Red Crescent ambulance crews are evacuating families whose homes were taken over and turned into military outposts by the Israeli occupation forces during their ongoing incursion into the #Jenin refugee camp,” the non-governmental organization said in a statement on X.

It posted a video documenting the evacuation process that showed women and children walking behind a Red Crescent ambulance with visible signs of destruction on both sides of the road in the northern West Bank.

Earlier, the Israeli army demolished three Palestinian homes in the camp amid armed clashes with Palestinian fighters, according to an Anadolu correspondent.

Witnesses told Anadolu that the army expanded operations in the city and continued to besiege and raid homes while storming neighborhoods.

They said military reinforcements were brought into the camp, accompanied by military bulldozers to destroy the infrastructure in the camp.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health said the death toll from the operation since early Tuesday has hit eight with 21 injured.

It brings the number of Palestinians killed in the West Bank, including Jerusalem, to 514 since the start of the Israeli onslaught on Gaza on Oct. 7, according to ministry data.

The army and Israeli settlers have since escalated attacks in the West Bank, including Jerusalem that has resulted in around 5,000 Palestinians being injured and more than 8,810 arrested, according to official Palestinian data.

The large-scale operation in the city and its camp is the 72nd operation carried out in Jenin province since the onslaught began in Gaza, leaving 122 dead, according to the Health Ministry.
