One killed in attack on Basij forces in SE Iran

TEHRAN

One person was killed and five others injured Saturday in an attack on a base of the Basij militia forces in southeastern Iran, according to state TV.

The attack took place in Sistan and province's Nikshahr town.

Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) ground forces described the assault as a "terrorist" attack in a statement by the official Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA).

Basij are paramilitary forces that fight under the umbrella of IRGC.
