ISTANBUL
Over half of Italians oppose US-Israeli strikes on Iran, a YouTrend poll with Sky TG24 revealed Friday.
The poll found that 56% of Italians oppose the US and Israel's military intervention against Iran.
While 57% of center-right voters support US-Israel attacks, 79% of voters in the broad center-left camp oppose them.
In the meantime, 48% of Italians hold the opinion that the government should maintain a neutral stance and mediate between the parties.
The poll also showed 29% think the Italian government should condemn the US-Israeli attacks and call for an immediate ceasefire.
Regional tensions have escalated due to the US and Israeli attacks on Iran that started on Feb. 28. Tehran has since launched retaliatory attacks against Israel and regional countries, including those in the Gulf that host US bases, disrupting global markets.
