ISTANBUL

Loud explosions were heard in the central and northern West Bank early Sunday after a missile barrage from Iran, according to an Anadolu correspondent.

No additional details were available, and no casualties have been reported

Earlier Saturday explosions were heard in Jerusalem and the West Bank, and missile fragments fell in the Palestinian area of Masafer Yatta after Iranian missiles were intercepted, witnesses told Anadolu.

It comes amid escalating regional tensions, which have flared since Israel and the US launched joint attacks against Iran on Feb. 28, killing more than 1,300 people, including then-Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Iran has retaliated with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, along with Jordan, Iraq and Gulf countries, which it says are targeting “US military assets.”
