Lebanon and Tunisia on Saturday joined the chorus of condemnations of Israeli attacks on Al-Aqsa Mosque compound, which left more than 205 Palestinians injured.

“There is no peace without justice,” Lebanese President Michel Aoun said on Twitter, in response to Israeli violations against the Palestinians in Jerusalem.

Palestinians marked the International Jerusalem Day on May 7, which is marked on the last Friday of the Muslims’ fasting month of Ramadan.

"On Jerusalem Day, Jerusalem bled again, and it will continue to bleed as long as the principle of force, displacement, and the deprivation of rights prevails,” Aoun said.

Meanwhile, the Tunisian Foreign Ministry urged the international community to provide protection to the Palestinian people against Israeli violations.

A ministry statement called for piling pressure on the Israeli occupation forces “to comply with the resolutions of international legitimacy and to restore the stolen rights of the Palestinian people".

The statement also reiterated support to the right of the Palestinian people "to freely practice their religious rites and establish their independent state on their lands, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif (Jerusalem) as their capital."

Palestinians in Jerusalem have in recent days protested in solidarity with the residents of Jerusalem's Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood amid clashes with Israeli police.

The protests came amid Israeli plans to evict Palestinians in the neighborhood from their homes and hand them over to settlement associations.

Jerusalem, where Al-Aqsa is located, has since the beginning of the fasting month of Ramadan, witnessed clashes between Palestinian youths and Israeli forces due to the latter's attempts to prevent annual Ramadan gatherings and activities in the city center.
