Lebanon’s death toll from Israeli attacks since early March rises to 1,039
Lebanese Health Ministry says 2,876 others injured
ISTANBUL
The death toll from Israeli attacks on Lebanon has risen to 1,039 since the start of Israel’s expanded offensive on March 2, the Health Ministry said Monday.
In a statement carried by Lebanon’s state National News Agency, the ministry said the total number of those injured during the same period reached 2,876.
Ten people were killed and 90 others injured across Lebanon over the past 24 hours alone, added the ministry.
The Israeli army has pounded Lebanon with airstrikes and launched a ground offensive in southern Lebanon since a cross-border attack by Hezbollah on March 2.
The current escalation followed the Feb. 28 start of a joint US-Israeli offensive on Iran, which has since killed over 1,300 people. Tehran has retaliated with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, along with US military assets in Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries.
