Kuwait says 19 people injured amid US conflict with Iran widens

ISTANBUL

Kuwait’s Health Ministry said Monday that 19 injured people were admitted to Al-Jahra and Al-Adan hospitals amid escalating regional tensions following a US-Israeli attack on Iran.

Ministry spokesman Abdullah Al-Sanad said in a statement that the injuries varied in severity but that most patients remained stable.

“The ministry resumed outpatient clinic services across health facilities and continued dispensing medications at hospitals and medical centers according to scheduled appointments,” he added.

Sanad urged patients with nonurgent conditions to visit primary health care centers, to ease pressure on hospitals and allow emergency departments to focus on critical cases.

“The ministry continues to implement operational and precautionary plans to ensure uninterrupted services and safeguard public health,” he added.

The US and Israel launched a large-scale attack on Iran on Saturday, killing several top Iranian leaders, including Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

In response, Tehran has retaliated with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel as well as regional countries which are home to US assets.
