GAZA CITY, Palestine / ISTANBUL

At least seven people were killed and several others injured in fresh Israeli strikes in the Gaza Strip on Tuesday, according to medics and witnesses.

The attacks came as Hamas and Israel continued indirect talks in Egypt to reach a prisoner swap and ceasefire under US President Donald Trump’s Gaza plan.

Medical sources told Anadolu that three people were killed and others injured when Israeli forces shelled a civilian gathering in the Sabra neighborhood, south of Gaza City.

Israeli artillery also shelled a residential apartment in the Al-Rimal neighborhood in the same city, injuring several people.

In southern Gaza, a Palestinian was killed in an Israeli airstrike on the Batin al-Samin area, south of Khan Younis.

A Palestinian seeking humanitarian aid was also shot dead by Israeli forces near a US–Israeli distribution point close to the Morag axis in Khan Younis.

Two more Palestinians were killed in Israeli strikes targeting areas in southern and central Gaza.

Seven Palestinians were also wounded by Israeli gunfire while seeking food near a US-run aid distribution center in northern Rafah, southern Gaza.

Eight others were injured when the Israeli army struck a tent sheltering displaced families in Khan Younis.

On Sept. 29, Trump unveiled a 20-point proposal that includes the release of all Israeli captives in exchange for Palestinian prisoners, a ceasefire, the disarmament of Hamas, and the rebuilding of Gaza.

The Israeli military has killed over 67,100 Palestinians, most of them women and children, in Gaza since October 2023. The relentless bombardment has rendered the enclave all but uninhabitable and has led to mass displacement, starvation, and the proliferation of disease.
