Israeli army says it carried out airstrikes across Iran
Airstrikes by Israeli forces struck F-14 fighter jets at Isfahan International Airport, says army statement
ISTANBUL
The Israeli army said Sunday that it had carried out airstrikes targeting what it described as “Iranian military infrastructure” across the country.
In a statement, the army said it launched “a wave of airstrikes targeting military infrastructure belonging to the Iranian regime across Iran.”
The military added that its forces struck F-14 fighter jets at Isfahan International Airport.
As of 0700GMT, there had been no official Iranian comment on the reported attacks.
Regional tensions have escalated since the US and Israel launched a large-scale attack on Iran on Feb. 28, to date killing more than 1,000 people, including Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, over 150 schoolgirls, and senior military officials.
Iran has retaliated with sweeping barrages of its own that have targeted US bases, diplomatic facilities, and military personnel across the region, as well as multiple Israeli cities.
