RAMALLAH, Palestine / ISTANBUL

One Palestinian was killed, and 10 others were detained in Israeli military raids across the occupied West Bank on Sunday, local media said.

The official news agency Wafa said a 25-year-old Palestinian died of injuries sustained during an Israeli raid in Jericho in the eastern West Bank.

Israeli forces also rounded up four people in Jenin, three in Nablus and one in Tulkarem in the northern West Bank, Wafa said.

In the south, Israeli army forces arrested a man and his son in Bethlehem and searched their house, witnesses said.

According to the Palestinian Prisoner Society, over 10,800 Palestinians have been detained by the Israeli army in the West Bank since October 2023, including 49 women and 450 children.

Separately, witnesses said a young Palestinian was beaten by Israeli forces last night in northern Salfit in the central West Bank after he was stopped on his way and forcibly taken to a nearby settlement. Medical teams later hospitalized him, Wafa said.

Since the start of Israel’s genocidal war on the Gaza Strip in October 2023, at least 1,013 Palestinians have been killed and more than 7,000 injured in the West Bank by Israeli forces and illegal settlers, according to the Health Ministry.

In an advisory opinion last July, the International Court of Justice declared Israel’s occupation of Palestinian territory illegal and called for the evacuation of all settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
