Israeli army issues forced displacement order for Lebanon’s Tyre, nearby Palestinian refugee camps
Warning issued late Tuesday ahead of possible strikes
ISTANBUL
The Israeli army issued an evacuation order late Tuesday for residents of the southern Lebanese city of Tyre, including nearby Palestinian refugee camps, ahead of possible strikes.
Military spokesman Avichay Adraee published what he described as an “urgent warning” on social media, calling on residents of Tyre and surrounding neighborhoods to leave their homes immediately.
The warning also included the Palestinian refugee camps of Rashidieh, Burj Shemali and al-Buss, near the coastal city.
Adraee said the Israeli army intends to target sites it claims are used by Hezbollah in the area. He claimed that anyone remaining near Hezbollah members, facilities or military equipment would be putting their lives at risk.
While US-Israel attacks on Iran continue, Tel Aviv has also expanded its operations against Hezbollah in Lebanon.
