Israel reports new missile attack from Yemen
Sirens sound in several areas in central Israel, including Jerusalem, Tel Aviv

JERUSALEM / ISTANBUL
Israeli air defenses intercepted a missile from Yemen, the army said on Sunday.
A military statement said that an interceptor was launched at the incoming missile.
No injuries were reported.
Israeli media said that air-raid sirens sounded in several areas in central Israel, including Jerusalem and Tel Aviv.
The Yemeni Houthi group has not yet claimed any responsibility for the rocket fire.
The Houthis have targeted ships passing through the Red and Arabian seas, the Bab al-Mandab Strait, and the Gulf of Aden since November 2023 in solidarity with Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, where Israel has killed more than 50,900 people.
The group halted attacks when a Gaza ceasefire was declared in January between Israel and the Palestinian group Hamas, but resumed them after renewed Israeli airstrikes on Gaza last month.
