Israel kills 20 Palestinians, renews evacuation warning for Gaza City
Army strikes shelter, home, vehicle as drones fire on civilians across neighborhoods

The Israeli army killed at least 20 Palestinians and wounded others in attacks across the Gaza Strip on Monday, renewing warnings for residents to evacuate Gaza City and move south, witnesses and medical sources told Anadolu.
In the southwestern Gaza City, two Palestinians were killed when a drone opened fire on a civilian gathering in Tel al-Hawa.
Another strike hit an inhabited home in al-Sabra neighborhood, killing and injuring several people.
West of the city, intense bombardment targeted areas north of Al-Quds Open University. No information was yet available about injuries.
In the city's east, a Palestinian was killed by Israeli army fire. The body was transported to the Baptist Hospital.
Six more Palestinians were killed in Israeli attacks on various neighborhoods of the city.
In the Al-Daraj neighborhood, east of the city, six Palestinians were killed in an Israeli attack in the Al-Sidra area.
Leaflets were dropped over al-Wehda Street and near the Al-Ahli Arab Hospital, demanding immediate evacuation southward.
Overnight, Israeli drones carried out demolition blasts in northwestern neighborhoods, while quadcopter drones hovered low and fired at homes in Tel al-Hawa and other districts.
Israel approved Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s plan to gradually reoccupy the Gaza Strip in August, beginning with Gaza City, home to about 1 million people.
In central Gaza, two Palestinians were killed and others injured when Israeli fire struck a tent sheltering displaced families in the al-Sawarkeh area near al-Nuseirat camp.
A child was killed when a civilian vehicle was hit in al-Farouq neighborhood, near the town of al-Zawaida.
A Palestinian was also killed in Israeli shelling of areas in the central Gaza Strip, though details about the exact location of the attack were not available.
In southern Gaza, medical sources said a Palestinian died of wounds sustained in a previous Israeli attack.
Since Oct. 7, 2023, Israel has been carrying out a genocide in Gaza, which has so far killed over 65,300 Palestinians, most of them women and children.
The onslaught has displaced hundreds of thousands alongside a blockade on humanitarian aid that has led to famine and claimed the lives of at least 442 Palestinians, including 147 children.
