Iran seizes huge haul of fuel in Strait of Hormuz
21 people were arrested on fuel smuggling charges, says IRGC commander

ANKARA
Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) seized the largest smuggled fuel in the Strait of Hormuz, according to a military commander on Wednesday.
IRGC forces confiscated over 12.5 million liters of smuggled fuel in a 10,000-ton ship, the largest amount seized so far, commander Alireza Tangsiri said.
Some 21 people were arrested on fuel smuggling charges as part of a “successful” operation targeting a major smuggling circle, Tangsiri said. He, however, did not give further information about the suspects.
According to Mehr New Agency, IRGC forces had also dismantled a major fuel smuggling circle, seizing more than 10 million liters of fuel in early March.
