GAZA CITY, Palestine

A young Palestinian man on Saturday succumbed to wounds he sustained from Israeli gunfire a day earlier, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.

In a statement, the ministry said Badr al-Din Nabil, 25, was injured during anti-occupation protests east of the city of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip on Friday.

Dozens of Palestinians protesters were injured by Israeli army fire during Friday’s rallies, according to the ministry.

Since the Gaza rallies began in March 2018, more than 300 protesters have been martyred and thousands more injured Israeli troops deployed near the Gaza-Israeli buffer zone.

Demonstrators demand an end to Israel’s 12-year blockade of the Gaza Strip, which has shattered the coastal enclave’s economy and deprived its 2 million inhabitants of many basic amenities.
