Civil defense teams successfully contained a fire after a drone-related incident caused an impact on a fuel tank near Dubai International Airport, officials said early Monday.

"No injuries have been reported," the Dubai Media Office said in a post on the US social media company X’s platform.

In an another post, the office said the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority has temporarily suspended flights at Dubai International Airport "as a precautionary measure" to ensure the safety of all staff and passengers.

"Travelers are advised to contact their respective airlines for the latest updates regarding their flights. Further updates will be announced through official channels as soon as they become available," it said.

Earlier, the office announced that authorities were "responding to a fire resulting from a drone-related incident in the vicinity of Dubai International Airport" which affected a fuel tank.

The development came as regional tensions have flared since Israel and the US launched joint attacks on Iran on Feb. 28, killing some 1,300 people so far, including then-Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Iran has retaliated with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, Jordan, Iraq and Gulf countries hosting US military assets.
