Elderly Palestinian killed by Israeli army fire in occupied West Bank
61-year-old man shot near Nur Shams refugee camp amid ongoing Israeli raids in West Bank

RAMALLAH, Palestine
Israeli forces shot and killed a 61-year-old Palestinian man on Thursday in the West Bank city of Tulkarem, the Health Ministry said.
A ministry statement identified the victim as Walid Hassan Saad Badir, saying he was killed by Israeli gunfire near Nur Shams refugee camp east of Tulkarem.
Local sources said Badir was shot at the eastern entrance of Nur Shams camp and was transported by ambulance to a hospital, where he was declared dead.
Since Jan. 21, the Israeli military has been conducting ongoing military operations in the Jenin, Tulkarem, and Nur Shams refugee camps.
Since the start of Israel’s assault on Gaza in October 2023, at least 989 Palestinians have been killed and more than 7,000 injured in the West Bank by Israeli forces and illegal settlers, according to the Health Ministry.
The International Court of Justice last July declared Israel’s occupation of Palestinian territory illegal and called for the evacuation of all settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
