Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and Danish King Frederik X held discussions in Copenhagen on Friday, focusing on ways to enhance bilateral cooperation ahead of the signing of a strategic partnership declaration.

In a statement, the Egyptian presidency said that al-Sisi expressed his pride in the visit, emphasizing his hope that it would lead to strengthened ties between Egypt and Denmark across various fields.

The leaders also participated in the Egyptian-Danish Business Forum, which aims to foster economic cooperation and investment between the two nations, according to the statement.

Al-Sisi’s visit to Denmark is the first official visit by an Egyptian president to the country.

Following his time in Denmark, the Egyptian president will travel to Norway, where he will meet with senior officials and leaders of several Norwegian companies operating in Egypt. He is also expected to witness the signing of several cooperation agreements between the two countries.

The final leg of al-Sisi’s European tour will take him to Ireland, where he plans to meet with President Michael Daniel Higgins and Prime Minister Simon Harris.

In Dublin, the discussions will focus on opportunities to further enhance bilateral relations and coordinate positions on international issues of mutual concern.
