Drone attack on Iraq’s Erbil airport targets US forces
No casualties or physical damage reported
A drone attack targeted Erbil International Airport in northern Iraq late Tuesday where US-led coalition troops are stationed.
The airport was attacked by an explosives-laden drone at 10:30 p.m., with a fire breaking out at the site, the Kurdish Regional Government’s counterterrorism directorate said in a statement.
No casualties or physical damage have been reported, the statement said.
The attack came less than 24 hours after an armed drone was shot down over the US embassy in Baghdad.
