ISTANBUL

Six French soldiers were injured in a drone attack targeting a position in northern Iraq’s Erbil province, a Kurdish official said Thursday.

Erbil Governor Omed Khoshnaw told local Iraqi media that the strike targeted the sixth axis in the Mala Qara area of Makhmour district, where French forces are stationed alongside Kurdish Peshmerga fighters.

Khoshnaw added that no Peshmerga personnel were injured in the attack.
