Thermal, night vision, surveillance cameras, equipment detecting unmanned aerial vehicles hit, Hezbollah says
BEIRUT
Lebanese group Hezbollah announced Friday that it had targeted "communication network equipment" in 42 Israeli military sites since Oct. 8.
"Thermal, night vision and surveillance cameras and equipment that detects unmanned aerial vehicles were hit," said a statement by the group, which has been firing tit-for-tat artillery strikes across its southern border with Israel since the current conflict in the Gaza Strip began on Oct. 7.
Noting that the hardware hit was in Israeli border watchtowers, it said radar systems and intelligence-gathering equipment used by Tel Aviv to maintain contact with its spy network in Lebanon were also targeted.
So far, 46 Hezbollah members and three Israeli soldiers have died in border clashes since Oct. 8.
Additionally, four civilians, including a journalist, was killed in Lebanon, while a civilian perished in Israel.
