ISTANBUL

Bahrain said Sunday that its air defenses intercepted and destroyed 125 missiles and 211 drones from Iran since Feb. 28.

In a statement, the General Command of the Bahrain Defense Force said the air defenses dealt with “successive waves of Iranian attacks” directed at the country.

It said Bahraini forces have demonstrated “a high level of combat readiness and operational vigilance to protect the country’s airspace and confront potential threats.”
The command urged residents to exercise maximum caution, stay away from damaged locations and “suspicious objects,” and avoid filming military operations or debris impact sites.

The statement warned that the use of ballistic missiles and drones to target civilian facilities and private property constitutes “a clear violation of international humanitarian law and the United Nations Charter and represents a direct threat to regional peace and security.”

Hostilities have escalated since Feb. 28 when Israel and the US launched joint attacks on Iran, killing around 1,200 people, including then-Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
Iran has retaliated with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries hosting US military assets.
