8 Israeli soldiers injured in Jabalia explosion: Report Israeli forces

JERUSALEM

Eight Israeli soldiers from the Givati Infantry Brigade were injured including three seriously in an explosion in Jabalia, northern Gaza on Saturday, Israeli public broadcaster KAN reported on Sunday.

“Eight fighters from the Rotem Battalion of the Givati Brigade were injured Saturday when an explosive device detonated inside a house they were in, in Jabalia, northern Gaza,” military correspondent Carmela Menashe told KAN.

She added that the three soldiers who were seriously injured are now in stable condition.

There was no official confirmation of the casualties. Observers says that while Israel occasionally acknowledges some of its human and material losses, military imposes strict restrictions on most casualty reports.

KAN also reported intense clashes in Beit Hanoun, northern Gaza, between Israeli forces and Palestinian factions.

Later, the Israeli army confirmed the deaths of four soldiers, including a reserve officer, and injuries to six others — two seriously — in an explosion in Beit Hanoun, according to the Israeli newspaper Maariv.

The Israeli army has killed over 46,500 people, mostly women and children, in Gaza since the Oct. 7, 2023 attacks by Hamas.

In November 2024, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.

Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave.
