Four Iraqi security personnel were injured on Sunday in an attack on a logistics support center at Baghdad International Airport, local media reported.

A security source told Shafaq News that the logistics support center at the airport was hit in the rocket attack, injuring four members of the Iraqi security forces.

Security forces later found the rocket launch platform used in the attack inside a Kia pickup truck in the Radwaniyah District, according to the source.

Authorities said the vehicle was equipped with multiple launchers that had been used to fire rockets at the facility.

Air raid sirens were also activated inside the logistics support center and at the US Embassy in Baghdad as a precaution amid concerns of further attacks, the report said.

The attacks come as regional tensions have flared since Israel and the US launched attacks against Iran on Feb. 28, killing more than 1,200 people, including then-Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Iran has retaliated with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, along with Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries, which it says are targeting “US military assets.”
