3 Israelis near Tel Aviv injured by shrapnel from Iranian missiles
Iranian missile barrage reportedly included cluster munitions, says Israeli media
ISTANBUL
Three Israelis were injured Wednesday when Iranian missile shrapnel struck a building in the central Israeli city of Petah Tikva following a barrage launched from Iran, said media and emergency responders' reports.
Israel’s Channel 12 reported that Iran fired a missile barrage toward Israel, saying some of the projectiles included cluster munitions.
The channel also aired footage showing damage to buildings and burning vehicles in several areas in central Israel, including the city of Ramat Gan east of Tel Aviv, due to falling missile fragments.
Hebrew news website Walla reported that Iranian missile shrapnel fell in at least nine locations across central Israel.
Israel’s emergency service, Magen David Adom, said its teams treated three injured people in Petah Tikva, describing their injuries as minor.
No independent reports were immediately available on the scale of damage or casualties, amid Israeli restrictions on reporting losses resulting from the war with Iran, with the military repeatedly warning against publishing images or videos of strike locations.
The barrage marks the eighth launched from Iran toward Israel since around midnight Tuesday.
