MERSIN (AA) - In men's basketball, Turkey claimed the gold medal after beating Serbia 79-62 on Tuesday's Mediterranean Games held in Turkey. 

Serbia got the silver in men's basketball while Tunisia defeated Macedonia 63-58 and won the bronze. 

Egypt's weightlifter Shaimaa Haridy won two gold medals in women's +75 kg weightlifting event. She lifted 110kg in snatch and 135kg in clean and jerk.

In snatch, Egypt's Halima Abbas got the silver with 110 kg while Tunisian Marwa Jlassi got the bronze with 95 kg.

Abbas won the silver in clean and jerk as well and Marwa won the bronze. 

Turkish wrestler Taha Akgul beat his Tunisian opponent Slim Trabelsi 2-0 and won the gold medal in free style 120kg.

Trabelsi got the silver while Greek Christos Nyfadopoulos and Macedonian Bojan Danov received the bronze. 

Defeating Spain 11-9, Croatia claimed the gold medal in men's water polo and Spain received the silver medal. 

Greece triumphed 9-8 over Italy in men's water polo and received the bronze medal.

France ranked the fifth in men's water polo after defeating Serbia 7-3.

Turkey's Rasim Reis won the bronze medal with his 33:41.38 in the men's road time trial.

French Yoann Paillot claimed the gold medal at 32:45.07 while Spanish Luis Guillermo Mas Bonet got the silver medal.

Algeria triumphed 3-0 over Macedonia in men's volleyball Group B.

Two Turkish boxers advanced to finals in 60kg and in super heavyweight +91 kg while two others received bronze medals.
