Winter Youth Olympics to begin in Switzerland Thursday

ANKARA

The 2020 Winter Youth Olympics will begin in Switzerland on Thursday, with 14 athletes from Turkey participating in the event.

The Turkish athletes will compete in ice hockey, alpine skiing, curling, biathlon and cross-country skiing branches in the Lausanne 2020.

A total of 1,880 athletes between 15-18 ages from at least 70 countries are expected to participate in the event.

The Winter Youth Olympic Games will conclude on Jan. 22.

Turkish athletes in Lausanne 2020 are as follows:

Alpine Skiing: Mina Bastan, Derin Berkin

Biathlon: Mine Kilic, Baris Oduncu

Ice Hockey: Sidre Ozer, Kerem Alsan, Ziya Efe Guclu

Curling: Berfin Sengul, Ifayet Safak Calikusu, Kadir Polat, Selahattin Eser

Cross-Country Skiing: Fatma Yavuz, Ozlem Ceren Dursun, Mehmet Turun
